Catching An Eclipse

partial_eclipse

The natural phenomenon known as a solar eclipse takes place on different days, at different times, in different places all over the world. NASA has released a list of expected eclipses for the near future, and we have compiled a list of when, what type, and where the next eclipse will occur. Take a look, plan on making a memory with someone special, and keep your eyes to the skies.

A Partial Eclipse occurs when the moon, as seen in the image above, covers only part of the sun.  An Annular Eclipse takes place when the moon is unable to block the entire view of the sun; the moon is too far away to obstruct the Earth’s entire view, and a thin ring of the sun is still visible.  A Total Eclipse takes place when the moon completely blocks out the light of the sun.
